7 Days of Thanks: Day 4 – Love & Hope

As we continue our series 7 Days of Thanks and “Thanksliving”,  I pray that we are  encouraged to see all the blessings we have in our life, outside of material possessions.  I pray we are challenged to dig deeper into the character of God and see how we can be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in our lives with some simple actions.

7 Days of Thanks:

Day 1: Grace

Day 2: Fresh Starts

Day 3: The Holy Spirit

Day 4: Love and Hope

Love flower in concrete

I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love.
With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.”

Jeremiah 31:3

Love.  It is one of our deepest longings.  We want to be loved, we want to be accepted, appreciated and cherished.  This emotion crosses borders, cultures and time.  Our experience with love may leave us with a sense of brokenness or mistrust or both.  These experiences can impact our perception of Jesus and His love for us.

I have loved you

God in His divine wisdom knew that we would have trouble understanding and accepting His love or the identity He has given us.

“God is not a man, so he does not lie.
He is not human, so he does not change his mind.”

Numbers 23:19

We can trust that God’s words are true.  Writing and reading these words can be easy, but embracing them as truth is a life long process.

Our experiences may whisper falsehoods into our spirit about who we are and what we are worth but the word of God speaks life, it speaks hope, it speaks truth, and it continues to pursue us for all of our days.  For this I am thankful and I am filled with hope for tomorrow.

“Give thanks to the God of heaven.

His faithful love endures forever.”

Psalm 136:26

The love of God will chase us down windy roads, lonely destinations, and to beautiful places.  We are loved and cherished with an everlasting love.  His pursuit for us is relentless and unwavering.  He is with us on our darkest nights and our brightest mornings.   He is with us and He is covering us with His love. Can you feel it?

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 8:38-39

This love is not easy to understand or even embrace, but it is true.  Even if we can’t seem to love ourselves, God will never say that you are not loved or that you are a mistake.  God does not make mistakes and God designed you from the inside out.  He loves YOU.

Nothing can separate us from the love of God

Today, we challenge you to spend some quiet time thinking about moments where you felt the love of God covering you.  We ask that you read these scriptures and pray that your spirit will embrace them as truth.  We challenge you to look at some circumstances in your life and see where God turned a disaster into something unexpected and life giving.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭

May God’s love cover you today!
