Thanksgiving is only a few days away. How are you celebrating? We are celebrating with our 7 Days of Thanks. Through this series we are praying that you will be encouraged to see all the blessings you have in your life, outside of material possessions. I pray you are challenged to dig deeper into the character of God and see how you can be the hands and feet of Jesus to those around you with some simple actions.
Each day has a special challenge and some simple ideas of how you can spread some Thanksgiving love in the life of those around you. Will you take the challenge?
7 Days of Thanks:
Day 6: God’s Creation and Creativity
Have you had the opportunity to see the sunrise or sunset over a beautiful landscape? There is something so captivating, so magnificent about the view. It doesn’t matter where we are in the world, there is so much beauty in watching the sun rise – the way the color of the sun interacts with the clouds, it is glorious. It reminds me that there is hope in every new day and each day is filled with afresh start.
“The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. God has made a home in the heavens for the sun. It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding. It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race. The sun rises at one end of the heavens and follows its course to the other end. Nothing can hide from its heat.”
Psalms 19:1-6 NLT
As I look around and passively observe God’s creations, whether in the heavens or around the earth, I am captivated by the attention to detail and the beauty found in everything.
There is beauty in the changing of the leaves of trees as they transition through seasons.
There is beauty in the billions of stars in the sky as they each uniquely shine their brightest.
There is beauty in the birth of an animal and the natural instincts of the mother to care for its baby, without books, without google and seemingly without instructions.
There is beauty in the blooming of flowers.
There is beauty as the snow falls and quiets the landscape.
There is beauty in the laughter of children as they wildly play without a care in the world.
There is beauty in the ripples of the water as it continually moves.
There is beauty seeing wild horses as they run together or birds as they flock in formation and sing in unison.
The world is filled with God’s creation and His creativity is on display for us each and every day. I pray that we do not miss it.
Today I am thankful for all that God sends our way to show His beauty, goodness and creativity and I pray that we do not miss it. I am also very thankful and grateful for those who use their gifts of creativity to bless others. I am thankful for you, the ..
