When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty” walk before me faithfully and be blameless.
Genesis 17:1
El Shaddai is the God Almighty. He is the ALL SUFFICIENT ONE. There is no one like Him – not one. Look to the stars in the sky, the glorious mountains, the eagle in flight, the lion in its majesty, or so many other remarkable creations that leave us in awe. Who is the one that spoke these things into existence?
The God Almighty, El Shaddai
Is there a promise of God that you’ve been holding on to, even clinging to – maybe for months or years? Have you ever felt as though the promise of God seems far off?
When we look at the world around us, our situations, our circumstances, our obstacles; it seems that it is natural to describe what we see. It is not natural to see what is not there, or what is yet to come.
Yet, the bible tells us that we are made in the image of God.
So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
Genesis 1:27
And God Almighty does not speak in terms of what is seen. He speaks things that are not seen and do not exist into existence. His words and promises CREATE life, destiny, and hope. How are we using our words?
God gave Abraham a vision, a promise, that one day his offspring would be as numerous as the stars in the sky. God declared the land he was standing on would be his own. What a GREAT promise this was for Abraham, especially since at the time he was an old man with no children! Abraham must’ve felt a deep sense of joy. God had heard and saw him and proclaimed blessings over his life – to vast to truly understand and maybe even a little impossible to truly believe.
As time passed and the hope of the promise began to fade and we find Abraham and Sarah growing desperate to see God’s promise fulfilled.
Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
Proverbs 13:12
but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
But God’s word and His promises are not returned void. We find God visiting Abraham again in Chapter 17 with this reminder,
I am God Almighty
Do you ever find yourself questioning the promise of God, the timing of God, or even the power of God?
El – Shaddai – God Almighty

It does not matter how much time has passed, what mountain is in front of you, what challenge you are facing, God can and will do it. God does not describe what He sees. He speaks things into existence that we cannot see or we may not understand.
Nothing is too hard for God. NOTHING
That addiction – set free
Those chains – broken
That heart – made whole
Those pains – healed
That sickens – gone
That destiny – walk in it
That promise – fulfilled
For Abraham and Sarah, it was a long journey but God’s promise was fulfilled in a way so great that they were only able to truly see the blessings from heaven. God’s promise was so big that they needed a new vantage point to see the promise in all of its glory.
Brother and Sisters, may we all be reminded and continually tell ourselves – He is ALMIGHTY! May we be given a fresh perspective on the promises He has declared in our lives. May our hearts not grow weary in the waiting. May we begin to use words that CREATE hope, life and destiny for ourselves and our loved ones.
HE IS the great EL SHADDAI and we are His children.
Amen and Many Blessings,
Tisha
