Then she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, You-Are-the-God-Who-Sees; for she said, “Have I also here seen Him who sees me?
Genesis 16:13
Hagar was the Egyptian slave woman and a concubine in the home of Abraham and Sarah. Sarah was barren and very desperate for a child so she arranged for Hagar to provide her a child. Hagar became pregnant with Abraham’s first child. When she became pregnant Sarah began to treat her harshly causing her to flee to the wilderness.
It is in the wilderness where Hagar SEES God.
It is in her fear, isolation, and weakness she is met face to face with God.

Hagar was a slave, a woman, a foreigner. She was the marginalized, the overlooked, the unseen.
Even so, GOD SHOWED UP. Not only did He show up, He told her He SEES her and He revealed Himself to her. Then He spoke life, hope and love into her future.
We serve the SAME God. A God who shows up. God does not look at who we are, where we are or who society says we are, but a God who truly SEES us. A God who says I have a hope and future for YOU!
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11
May El ROI, the God Who SEEs, reveal Himself to you and declare the future hope that He has for your life.
May you feel seen and heard by the God of the universe. The very God who spoke the world into existence. The God who with one breath created the stars, the sky, the heavens above and the greatest depths of the oceans below – That same God is the God who sees You!
Many Blessings,
Misty
